Landscape & Garden Consultations
Eve and Mikl Brawner, owners of Harlequin’s Gardens Nursery, are available for consultations year-round to help you make your garden/landscape more sustainable, successful, rewarding and beautiful.
We can help you to:
- clarify the use of your space
- identify site opportunities and limitations
- reduce your water use by planning a xeriscape
- include native plants in your landscape
- add plants that will attract beneficial wildlife, e.g. butterflies, hummingbirds, ladybugs, etc.
- make design suggestions with rough sketches
- make plant lists for each specific area
- mark locations in your garden for specific plants, paths, etc.
- prioritize elements of the project and determine which aspects may require professional assistance
- evaluate the health and value of existing landscape elements and make non-toxic recommendations for pest and disease control
- identify, evaluate and make recommendations for tree care
We can also advise you on
- beginning or improving a vegetable/fruit garden
- making soil improvements before planting
- maintaining your garden
- starting or improving a composting area
We cannot draw up complete design drawings or cost estimates, and we do not install landscapes.

Eve and Mikl offer consultations together or separately, with the following fee schedule:

Note: A travel charge may be added for outlying locations

In addition to our experience at Harlequin’s Gardens nursery, where we’ve been growing, researching, testing, evaluating, teaching and discussing plants since 1990.
Eve has a background in landscape architecture and art. Her wealth of experience with spatial design and color is enriched by over 30 years of gardening experience, both ornamental and edible,
and
Mikl has been an arborist for over 30 years, and has tested and gardened with xeriscape and native plants for more than 20 years.
